SSL certificates

Use this section when HTTPS is pending, a certificate must be attached to a hostname, or renewal failed.

Use cases

  • Auto SSL is enabled but the domain is not verified yet.
  • A user uploads a manual certificate.
  • A full-transfer wildcard certificate must cover child hostnames.

Workflow

  1. Select account.
  2. Open Certificates.
  3. Create or choose certificate.
  4. Attach it to the hostname.
  5. Watch status and operations.

Checks

  • Certificate covers the SNI domain.
  • Domain verification/DNS is complete.
  • Internal certificate queue is not exposed as a customer step.

Smoke tests

  • CertificateInspectorServiceTest checks certificate coverage.
  • CertificateConfigHealthServiceTest checks config health.
  • GeneralAuthContractTest protects internal certificate service auth.
